    The third match of the group was like a Final. Belgium v Portugal had all the makings of a play-off qualifier, and so it was: the Portuguese, winning 2-1 in the final thanks to Dantas' goal from a penalty kick - after Neves' opener and Vertessen's equaliser - earned them a pass to the quarter-finals of the European Under-21 Championship. Disappointment for Charles De Ketelaere and Aster Vranckx, who were fully involved in the difficult evening in Tbilisi: their national team was eliminated, finishing bottom of the standings without a win (2 points) and, above all, without advancing to the knockout phase.
