REIJNDERS AND THE NETHERLANDS THROUGH TO THE QUARTERS

The Netherlands, finally. After an up and down group stage, finishing in third place behind Austria and France, the Orange convinced everyone in the round of 16 at Euro 2024 against a tricky Romania side, running out 3-0 winners with a bright Tijjani Reijnders featuring in the centre of the park - paired first with Schouten and then Veerman - and playing the entire ninety minutes of the game. Precise in his passes, involved and looked for by his teammates, good at dictating the timing of moves without forgetting his attacking play: the number 14 proved once again to be an essential piece of Koeman's team. His Orange dominated from the first minute and took the lead through Gakpo in the 20th minute, only to seal the game late on with a brace from Malen (83' and 93') after wasting several opportunities. They now move on to the quarter-finals, where they will face Turkey, who were victorious 2-1 over Austria.
