Half-hearted joy for Francesco Camarda. He scored a great goal for Italy U19s to make it 1-0 in the last match of the Elite Round qualifications for the next EUROs against France. In fact, despite the young Rossonero's goal, the 2-0 win at the Ceravolo in Catanzaro wasn't enough for the Azzurrini to qualify for the tournament's final because of Spain's win over Lettonia which meant that they held their position at the top of the group, and secured their place in the EUROs. Magni, Liberali and Sala also featured alongside the young forward.
Samule Chukwueze was making his mark in another continent, playing 60 minutes in the match between Nigeria and Zimbabwe in a match for World Cup 2026 qualification. Samu had several good moments throughout the match, but without all too much substance. Despite Victor Osimhen's goal, Nigeria draw 1-1 in the end, leaving them in a tough position in Group C for World Cup 2026 qualifications, currently holding fourth place, six points below group leaders South Africa.
