More international action, more Rossoneri off to World Cup 26. Belgium were jubilant last night, as they smashed Liechtenstein by seven goals to nil to book their ticket to next summer's tournament. All seven goals came in the first hour of the game. Alexis Saelemaekers featured heavily too, setting Doku up to make it 2-0 before netting himself as he slotted home following goalkeeper Büchel's wayward clearance. That was the second international goal for the Rossoneri's number 56. Koni De Winter, meanwhile, was an unused substitute.
It wasn't all about World Cup aspirations, however, as two Rossoneri were involved in qualifying for the Under-21 Euros in 2027. It was a tough evening for Zachary Athekame and Switzerland, as they let a lead slip against Luxembourg (2-1). Davide Bartesaghi's Italy, on the other hand, moved on from Friday's defeat to Poland by beating Montenegro 4-1. The AC Milan man played well on the right flank in a game in which Francesco Camarda got on the scoresheet.
