MEXICO KEEP A PERFECT RECORD, 30' FOR GIMENEZ

Mexico have closed out the group stage with a perfect record thanks to another victory, their third of this World Cup, defeating the Czech Republic. The final score was 3-0, with goals from Chávez García, Quiñones, and Fidalgo. Santi Gimenez featured with more playing time, coming on for Martínez in the 63rd minute with Mexico already 2-0 ahead. Head coach Javier Aguirre's side will return to action in the Round of 32. Switzerland also secured victory, defeating Canada 2-1 to secure top spot in their group. Ardon Jashari was an unused substitute.
