GIMENEZ AND MEXICO OUT OF WORLD CUP
Internationals
Mexico’s World Cup journey came to an end at the Estadio Azteca, where the hosts suffered a 3-2 defeat to England. It was a fiercely contested match that remained in the balance until the final whistle, with Bellingham’s brace and Kane’s goal proving decisive for the Three Lions. Goals from Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez were not enough for Mexico. Santiago Gimenez came on for the final half hour as El Tri looked to capitalise on their numerical advantage. However, the Rossoneri forward suffered an ankle issue in stoppage time.
