BELGIUM THROUGH TO THE QUARTER‑FINALS, USA AND PORTUGAL KNOCKED OUT

Belgium secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 4-1 victory over the United States in Seattle. De Ketelaere's brace and goals from both Vanaken and Lukaku sealed the victory for the Red Devils. Tillman scored the only goal for the American side, who were briefly level with Belgium at 1-1. Saelemaekers came on for Trossard in the 89th minute, while De Winter was an unused substitute. The United States' journey therefore came to an end in the Round of 16, with Christian Pulisic starting before being forced off with an injury in the 59th minute, replaced by Berhalter. Belgium will now take on Spain in the quarter-finals.

The Spanish team secured their spot in the quarter-finals after beating Portugal 1-0, thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Merino, assisted by substitute Ferrán Torres. Portugal's Rafa Leão came on in the 71st minute in place of João Félix and came close to equalising in the 82nd minute by bursting down the left and sending in a deflected cross. Gonçalo Ramos was an unused substitute during the match.
