ANOTHER SETBACK FOR MILAN FUTURO: 0-2 AGAINST CALDIERO TERME

A second loss for Oddo's side after they conceded two goals in the second half

Milan Futuro were defeated 2–0 by Caldiero Terme at the Chinetti in Serie D, Group B, on Matchday 8. After last week’s away loss to Virtus CiseranoBergamo, Massimo Oddo’s side couldn’t turn things around, suffering their second consecutive defeat. The match was goalless for over an hour, until the Venetians broke the deadlock through Mauri, who cleverly slipped past the Rossoneri defence to beat Torriani. An own goal from Magrassi in the final minutes sealed the win for them.

It was a tense and physical match, without many incidents or thrilling moments. Had the penalty been given for the clear foul on Perina, when the score was still 0-0, the course of the game could have changed drastically. Caldiero Terme proved more clinical and organised, while the young Rossoneri struggled to find the final touch in the attacking third and the composure needed to stay in the game during the closing minutes. Mattia Cappelletti stood out, tireless on the right wing, solid defensively, and effective going forward. With this defeat, Milan Futuro remain on 11 points, slipping to 7th in the table, with one game in hand against Breno. Oddo’s side will visit Breno on Wednesday afternoon seeking redemption and the crucial points needed to reignite their campaign.

MATCH REPORT
It was a tense encounter at the Chinetti in Solbiate Arno between Milan Futuro and Caldiero Terme. In the 7th minute, Perina won the ball in midfield but was brought down by Pelagatti just outside the area; Branca struck his free kick low but it was blocked by the wall. In the 25th minute, Milan Futuro earnt a corner. Branca found Minotti at the edge of the box, but his shot sailed over the crossbar. Two minutes later, Caldiero responded, after a cleared free kick, Viviani fired weakly, and Gentile’s header tested Torriani. Petdji Tisila scored in the 29th minute, but the referee had already blown for a foul on Minotti. Milan Futuro’s best chance of the first half came in the last minute. Perina set up Cappelletti in the box, but Zouaghi made a crucial save. The first half ended 0-0, with only a few real chances.

In the second half, the game grew scrappier, and Caldiero Terme put their experience and physicality to good use, making the most of the few chances they had. In the 48th minute, Milan Futuro tried again from a free kick , the clearance fell to Minotti, who sent a dangerous ball back into the box, but it went out of play. Five minutes later, Branca played the ball to Perina, who was clearly held in the area. His weak shot followed, and despite AC Milan’s protests, the referee allowed play to continue. Caldiero took the lead in the 74th minute: Mauri broke into the box and fired a left-footed shot past Torriani to put them 1-0 up. Eight minutes later, Mauri threatened again, but Torriani was equal to the effort. In stoppage time, the game was killed off with an unfortunate own goal from Magrassi following a corner, making the final score 2-0 to Caldiero.
