MILAN FUTURO BEATEN AT SONDRIO: 1-0

Marras' free-kick wins it for the Biancazzurri

It's a step backwards for Milan Futuro, who lost 1-0 away at Nuova Sondrio after two straight wins. A Marras free-kick midway through the first half decided the day in Group B of Serie A. The goal was enough for Marco Amelia's side to claim their first league win of the season on matchday 11. The result is harsh on the Rossoneri, who pushed hard for the whole 90 minutes; they just failed to break down the hosts' stout defence.

It's a difficult afternoon, but with hard work at the Centro Sportivo Milanello powered by Clivet, the team can get back to the form that saw them beat Folgore Caratese and Otrepò. The season will now pause to allow for international call-ups. We get back underway in two weeks, with a run of three games in seven days. First, we travel to Villa Valle before home fixtures against Real Calepina and Brusaporto in Solbiate Arno.

MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri started strongly. After a few tentative forays by Traorè and Karaca, the first real chance fell the way of Sia, who headed just wide from Cappelletti's cross (13'). The hosts responded on 18 minutes, as Tall forced Pittarella into a good save down low. The game changed in the 23rd minute, when Marras handed Sondrio the lead with a precise free-kick; the goalkeeper couldn't get there. Oddo's side shrugged off the blow and the game became all the more physical and intense. Before the break, prolonged possession for the Rossoneri led to chances for Duțu (28') and Karaca (35'), but to no avail.

No changes at the break for the Rossoneri, who upped the tempo. Traorè stood out and generated a couple of chances: for Ibrahimović in the 52nd minute and a free-kick that went sailing off target in the 59th. Oddo shuffled the pack in an attempt to carry more threat in attack. But it was Minotto with an effort from outside the area (76') and captain Duțu with a header just wide (80') who came closest. Branca popped up in the 86th minute, but his effort was off target. The eight minutes of added time were tense and excited but devoid of chances. It remained 1-0.
