ALLEGRI: "WE MUST ONLY THINK ABOUT THE RESULT"

It's the eve of AC Milan v Juventus, a huge Serie A clash with significant history and value. As always, the Rossoneri are looking to finish April on a high note and remain on top form after their win in Verona. Here are Allegri's comments from the press conference at Milanello:

BUILDING UP TO AC MILAN v JUVENTUS
"It's always a great game to be a part of, one of the most important in the league. It's coming at an interesting time, with both sides in the fight for the same objective. They've improved a lot, the arrival of Spalletti has given them something, they're playing really well, show solidity and quality in the way they play".

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OBJECTIVE
“We still need seven more points to mathematically secure qualification for the Champions League, maybe even fewer. It’s not a decisive match, but it’s a game that could allow us to make another step towards our objective; the match we really had to win was the one in Verona as it came after a difficult period. At this moment, results and points are what matter, not goals from strikers or anything else. We shouldn’t be too focused on second place either; we’ll try to finish as high as possible, but the most important thing, both from a sporting and economic perspective, is to finish in the top four. If we manage to do it, our fans should also be thanked, because they have always been extraordinary.”

PRESENT AND FUTURE
“This season we’ve built a solid foundation to continue from next season. There’s open dialogue within the club, and we have players of great technical quality and strong character. At AC Milan there must always be the ambition to aim for the highest targets and to improve every day. The team has never lost its spark - we went unbeaten for a long stretch. In the second half of the season we lost a few matches and, naturally, perceptions about us changed. The table reflects the reality. The transfer market? There’s no point talking about it now. In this final part of the season we have to stay focused on the pitch and on results. Then the club will take care of the rest, and they’ve already done an excellent job this season.”

INDIVIDUALS
“Leão has always made himself available - we shouldn’t forget the physical problems he’s had, but he remains a top player. Pulisic is clearly improving in both condition and performances. Pavlović has improved a lot - he’s now one of the best defenders in Europe. Jashari was a major investment and he’s an excellent player. So far he hasn’t had much playing time, but that’s not because he lacks quality. Patience is required - just as it was with De Winter.”
