It was meant to be the night AC Milan got back on track, when they returned to winning ways. However, the Rossoneri's matchday 34 clash against Torino turned out to be an evening to forget. The Granata's 2-0 win heaps more misery on the Diavolo, who were condemned to defeat in the second half following goals from Belotti (scored after a dubious penalty was given) and Berenguer. It's a tough defeat to take and a result that could prove to be AC Milan's downfall as they look to qualify for the Champions League. Despite being put under pressure in the first half, Gattuso's men were able to deal with what was thrown at them and actually had the better chances before the break. In the second 45 minutes, Guida's decision to award a penalty changed the course of the match in the Granata's favour. From that point on, AC Milan struggled to show a reaction and finished the match with ten man after Romagnoli was given a staight red. The table is now looking a little more complicated: following tonight's result, Torino have moved level with the Rossoneri in the league standings. Both teams sit on 56 points, two away from Roma in fourth. This is a defeat which hurts, but it needs to serve as motivation as the Diavolo look to save their season in the last four matches. Their next fixture will be against Bologna on Monday 6 May at San Siro.

MATCH REPORT
Coach Gattuso opted for a 4-3-3 formation for the match at the Grande Torino, with Calhanoglu, Cutrone and Suso chosen to lead the attack. After a slow start to the game, Suso tested Sirigu with a right-footed strike on the half-hour mark. After 39 minutes, Donnarumma comfortably smothered Belotti's strike following a corner for the home side. The Diavolo had the best chance of the half just before half-time as Cutrone played the ball to Calhanoglu, but the outrushing Sirigu was there to deny the Turkish player from close range. At the start of the second half, the Granata were awarded a penalty by Guida after Franck Kessie was penalised for a foul on Izzo. Andrea Belotti subsequently stepped up and scored from the spot to make it 1-0. Gattuso then tried to shake things up, bringing on Piatek and Borini for Paquetá and Suso. AC Milan came close to equalising in the 67th minute as Bakayoko headed against the bar following Calhanoglu's floated free kick. The Granata then doubled their lead moments later: Berenguer found the back of the net with a powerful right-footed strike after AC Milan had failed to clear their lines. AC Milan looked to go forward and get back into the match and came close in the 80th minute as another Bakayoko header was saved by Sirigu. Things went from bad to worse eight minutes from time as Romagnoli was sent off for dissent to cap off a bad night for the Rossoneri.
