CAMPIONI D'ITALIA!

"We are the Champions my friends!" It's been eleven years, 4,033 days, but we've finally reclaimed the Scudetto. A historic and extraordinary achievement, the cherry on top of an amazing season, the just reward for a bold and ambitious project. Top of the table on 86 points, 26 wins and 69 goals scored: those are the key stats that see us claim our 19th Italian league title!

Our last league title, claimed with a goalless draw at Roma in May 2011, and this newest one share one common element: Zlatan Ibrahimović. Ibra’s return to the Club led to a major system shock, as he led the team with his experience, charisma, strength and goals. The steady-handed veteran leading a pack of inexperienced, enthusiastic and highly promising youngsters with the impeccable oversight of Coach Stefano Pioli. The Coach has played a crucial role in the team's exponential growth; giving them a clear identity and style to follow, which in turn led to entertaining and convincing performances. Winning the Scudetto is certainly the culmination of everyone’s hard work but despite what many might have believed, it was not unforeseeable. Following the lockdown and league shut down, the team had gone on an incredible run of form which few would have expected. Then last season, we returned to the Champions League after a seven-year absence. 

Ownership, management, Coach and the players: each a vital component in the machine which has created a work of art. First, the team returned to competing for a place in the Champions League, and now not just competing for but winning the league title! The first trophy since the Supercoppa Italiana claimed in 2016. 

From the derby to the night at Napoli's Maradona, then on to the Olimpico and the Bentegodi of Verona. The last few months have been a rollercoaster of highs and highers as, game by game and week by week, our dream became more and more solid. A dream we would not have believed possible in the not too distant past. Yet we stood proud at the top of the table, never slipping off, when it mattered most.

Rossoneri, the title is ours! To all the fans who have been by our side at every game, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and your passion. You have been wonderful and indispensable. It is only with your help that we turned San Siro into an unassailable fortress. 

So, let us sing it together: "We are the champions, my friend!"
