    ROSSONERI DEFEAT GENOA ON MD37

    Serie AMay 17th 2026

Defeat on the road for Conceição's Rossoneri who fell to a 2-0 defeat at the Allianz Stadium in Turin against Thiago Motta’s Bianconeri. The first 20 minutes of the second half proved fatal as the hosts scored through Mbangula and Weah in the 59th and 64th minute. These five minutes tore down our resistance despite having been, at many points, close to taking the lead in the first half. Thus came the first defeat under Conceição, on a Saturday already complicated by various absentees. The defeat to a direct rival in the race for Champions League qualification complicates our path in the league, though there is still time and space to play for it.

Fatal, as we said, was the too-sift approach at the start of the second 45 which allowed Juventus to take hold of the pitch, doubling down with the two goals in quick succession. The reaction in the last half an hour of play was not enough to get us back in the game, despite a few promising moments. We’re left with regrets for the chances missed in the first 45 minutes. Now, it’ll be key to recover both our physical and mental energy ahead of the Champions League fixture against Girona, scheduled for Wednesday at 21:00 CET at San Siro. Ready to recover right away, forza Milan!

    MATCH REPORT
It was fizzling start to the game, with Juve having the lion's share of possession but AC Milan looking dangerous on the counter. They proved as much in the third minute when Reijnders played in Rafa, who tried to catch everyone out with the backheel but the Bianconeri's defence scrambled it clear. In the eighth minute, Mbangula was at the heart of the Bianconeri's first chance as he sent his effort just over the crossbar. Tijji again was in the thick of it for the Rossoneri with a through ball for Musah, who fed Rafa in the middle. The Portuguese winger turned and let fly, only for the Bianconeri's defence to deny him once more. Koopmeiners then fired over the bar from the edge of the area. Every time Milan got forward, they looked dangerous: in the 19th minute, Theo's low corner found Reijnders, whose shot was miraculously cleared by Locatelli. Triple chance in the 27th minute: Di Gregorio denied Rafa before two Theo chances, both of which were blocked. At the other end, Tomori denied González. Mike then kept out Yıldız's effort (39').

The final chance of the first half fell to Theo in stoppage time, drawing a save with a back-post header from Rafa's cross. At the start of the season, Maignan made a strong double save to deny Weah and then Koopmeiners. Just before the hour mark, Juventus struck through Mbangula, who hit it first time, only for it to take a wicked deflection off Emerson and loop over Maignan. It was a near-immediate second goal for the hosts, who got Weah in behind to slot it home and make it 2-0. We tried to shuffle the pack, sending on Jiménez, Camarda, Terracciano, and Jović, and came close to pulling one back through Theo's free-kick - just wide - and a Camarda header - off target. There was no more action before the final whistle and it ended 2-0 to Juventus.
