THE 'SAN SIRO PER TUTTI' PROJECT

For AC Milan, the experience at the stadium represents the ideal moment to embrace the Club’s fanbase. A match at San Siro generates passion, excitement as people come together to share the experience as one and it’s something that should be accessible to as many fans as possible.

Through the ‘San Siro per tutti’ project, we want to open the stadium to all of our supporters and break down all forms of barriers or social prejudice. This project covers all of the initiatives to make the stadium experience as good as it can be for our blind, visually-impaired and deaf fans along with those with motor-impairments.

Out of the new features in our project for inclusion is the establishment of a new sector dedicated entirely to people with visual disabilities so they can finally fully experience the magical San Siro atmosphere through the use of an exclusive audio-audio-description service.

Two dedicated commentators who have received training from CAFE (Center for Access to Football in Europe) are now capable of offering a service perfectly suited to the needs of fans. They will be able to describe the positions of the players on the pitch and the action while also covering the other details such as the choreographies in the Curva Sud and the scenes during the warm-up and when the teams emerge from the tunnel.

The project kicked off last season at AC Milan v Frosinone with our CEO Ivan Gazidis in attendance and a delegation from Milan’s partner the Istituto dei Ciechi led by President Rodolfo Masto. The service has been in operation regularly since the first match of the 2019/20 season thanks to vital collaboration from a team of stewards of who provide assistance for blind and visually-impaired fans at the ground.

Full accessibility through infrastructure and provisions to improve the live experience are also guaranteed for physically disabled fans. Be they able to walk or not, there are 260 free seats available for every match at San Siro. The system which has now been fully tested provides a dedicated booking service that indicates the locations of relevant stations around the ground to meet the needs of fans in wheelchairs and with physical disabilities.
