10 FUN FACTS ON UDINESE V AC MILAN

The stats ahead of Udinese v Milan, all of the numbers for our season opener. Just a few hours remaining until kick-off at the Dacia Arena, where Coach Giampaolo’s side begin their 2019/20 Serie A season. Here are 10 fun facts about this fixture in the past.

1- This will be the 89th meeting in Serie A between the two sides: the Rossoneri hold the superior record with 39 wins compared to Udinese’s 16; 33 of the matches ended as draws. This will be the first ever match between the two teams in the month of August.

2- Milan are undefeated in their last four Serie A matches against Udinese (2W, 2D).

3- Milan have played 44 Serie A matches away in Udine: 11 wins for the Friulians, 15 for the Rossoneri and 18 draws.

GENERAL STATS

4- The Rossoneri are undefeated in their last four Serie A season openers against the Friulian side: one win followed by three draws.

5- Milan had an excellent run of form in Serie A in 2019, winning 37 points in the league, this was level with Juventus and was only topped by Atalanta (41).

6- Milan are the side who have conceded the fewest goals in the top division since the start of 2019: 16 goals conceded, almost two times fewer than anyone else.

PLAYER FOCUS

7- If he plays, Fabio Borini will record his 50th Serie A appearance in a Milan shirt.

8- Rade Krunić is one of only four midfielders (together with Gómez, Iličić and de Paul) to have been involved in at least twelve goals in Serie A 2018/19 (five goals and seven assists for the Bosnian). Amongst all the midfielders in Serie A 2018/19 only Gómez (11), de Paul and Lazzari (8) provided more assists than Krunić (7).

9- Ismael Bennacer won back possession the most times (312) out of any outfield player in Serie A 2018/19. Only Tiemoué Bakayoko (272), won more duels than the Algerian (252) out of all the midfielders in Serie A 2018/19.

10- This will be the first Serie A meeting between the two coaches Igor Tudor and Marco Giampaolo.
