A late but important addition in the transfer market. Ante Rebić came just before the curtain fell on the summer window with the season having already begun but he has all the features to be a key player for AC Milan. Born in 1993, the forward stands at 185cm tall and he weighs 78kg, the Croatian has played in some of Europe’s top leagues, including previous spells in Serie A at Fiorentina (2013/14 and 2015 until January 2016) and at Hellas Verona (January to June 2016).
HIS CHARACTERISTICS AND CAREER
Physical and technical, Rebić offers a mix of spirit and quality. A complete player, he’s comfortable with both feet and in different positions. He can lead the line or be a support striker, play on the wing or in attacking midfield. He scores and finishes chances while he’s quick and creative in his play. He’ll certainly be another attacking option for Marco Giampaolo. After coming through Croatian youth football, he made his professional debut for RNK Split where he scored 17 goals in under 60 matches.
Between Serie A and the Bundesliga: He went from Fiorentina to Leipzig, Verona to Eintracht Frankfurt. With the Eagles, he won the DFB Pokal in May 2018 and scored a brace during the 3-1 win over Bayern Munich. He showed great potential and everything required for a bigger and more successful career. Compatriot Zvonimir Boban knows him well. The Rossoneri have welcomed him into the fold with open arms. The supporters, San Siro and more now cannot wait to see him in action.
FOR CROATIA
Rebić is also a key player for his national team. After moving up from the Under-18s to Under-21s, he made his senior debut in August 2013. So far, he’s made 28 appearances and scored three goals with one of them coming against Argentina at the 2018 World Cup in Russia as Croatia pulled off the great feat of making the final. In the 2018/19 season, he played 38 times for Eintracht Frankfurt and scored ten goals.
