Matchday three in the 2019/20 Serie A season sees AC Milan travel to face Hellas Verona. After taking three points at San Siro against Brescia, Marco Giampaolo’s side are looking to build on that result, hit form and add consistency ahead of the derby next week. The Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi has historically been a difficult place to visit, a stadium where the Rossoneri last won in the 2014/15 season but the overall record there against the Scaligeri is a negative one.

From 27 previous Serie A matches in Verona, the Rossoneri have won nine, drawn eight and lost ten. Marco Giampaolo’s side will be up against a newly-promoted side and nothing can be taken for granted. Let’s take a look back at more trivia and statistics ahead of Milan’s next league game.

    DIRECT MATCH-UPS

1- The Rossoneri have won three of the last four Serie A matches played in Veneto (one draw). That’s as many wins as in the previous eight in the region.

2- The most common scoreline in meetings between these two teams is 1-1 which has happened on eight occasions, most recently in December 2015.

    GENERAL STATISTICS

3- Excluding newly-promoted sides, Milan are the side who have conceded the fewest goals (17) in Serie A in 2019.

4- Milan, along with Torino, are the side with the most clean sheets (nine) in 2019 in Serie A.

    PLAYER FOCUS

5- Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s first Serie A goal came in Verona, but against Chievo October 2017.

6- Only Falco and Pulgar have set up teammates for more shots than Suso (eight) this season.

7- Out of the top three defenders in terms of passes made this season, two are at Milan. They are Mateo Musacchio (164) and Alessio Romagnoli (155), only Marlon Santos (184) is ahead of them.

8- Franck Kessié’s next win will be his 50th in all competitions for Milan. He has played in 98 matches for the Club, winning in half of them.

    COACH FOCUS

9- Marco Giampaolo has never lost against Verona in Serie A, winning three and drawing one with no goals conceded.

10- Giampaolo and Juric have faced off three times in Serie A, in three Genoa derbies. The current Rossoneri boss won two and drew one.
