A strong opponent fighting for the same objective as the Rossoneri in the league. A solid team full of quality, especially in attack. Up next for AC Milan is a match against Lazio at San Siro. The Biancocelesti are set to face a Rossoneri side who are no doubt feeling calmer and more fired up following their 1-0 win against SPAL. Another victory is required to make headway towards the Champions League qualification places. As we wait for the 20:45 CET kick-off, let’s take a look at nine statistics relating to the matchday eleven clash in Serie A.

    PREVIOUS MEETINGS AT SAN SIRO

1- AC Milan are unbeaten in 29 home matches (18 wins, 11 draws) against Lazio in the league since 1989. In the history of Serie A, only three teams have gone on longer unbeaten runs against a single opposition side: Roma (30 matches against Atalanta and Bari), Juve (30 against Bari) and Bologna (32 against Genoa).

    GENERAL STATISTICS

2- The Rossoneri have won five of their last eight matches at home in Serie A. Against SPAL, AC Milan kept a clean sheet after having gone six matchdays without managing to do this.

3- AC Milan have won by a one-goal margin in all of their four league victories this season, three of which ended 1-0.

4- The Rossoneri are the side who have conceded the fewest goals in the first half an hour of games so far this Serie A campaign: only Pulgar (Fiorentina) has scored against them in this opening period.

    PLAYER FOCUS

5- Franck Kessie has scored three goals against Lazio in Serie A, including his first two in the Italian top tier (on his Serie A debut on 21 August 2016): he hasn’t netted more against any other side.

6- Hakan Çalhanoğlu is the only Rossoneri player to have scored more than one goal from open play so far this season (two goals).

7- Alessio Romagnoli is the only AC Milan player to have played every minute of the Rossoneri’s Serie A campaign so far (900 minutes).

8- Lucas Biglia scored 13 goals in 109 matches while at Lazio in Serie A (48 of these appearances and seven of these goals came when Stefano Pioli was at the helm).

    COACH FOCUS

9- Stefano Pioli took charge of 69 Serie A matches for Lazio between 2014 and 2016, winning 32, drawing 15 and losing 22 of these.
