After recharging their batteries over the Christmas break, Maurizio Ganz’s Rossonere side are ready to return to action. Currently fourth in the table with one match in hand, AC Milan will next face a newly-promoted Empoli Ladies side with the aim of starting 2020 in the best way possible by making up ground on league leaders Juventus. Ahead of the 14:30 CET kick-off at the Stadio Brianteo in Monza, let’s take a look at some trivia related to the fixture.
- It will be the first Serie A meeting of Milan and Empoli Ladies. The Rossonere have won two and lost one of the last three in the league while the Tuscans have drawn three and lost one of their last four.
- Milan won the last league match without conceding. The side hasn’t kept two clean sheets at home in Serie A since March 2019 when they did so against Florentia and Verona.
- 15 out of Milan’s 18 goals this season have been scored in the second half, the most in the league.
- Valentina Giacinti has scored in her last two away league matches but hasn’t found the net at home since September against Orobica.
