After 26 matches in Serie A, the Rossoneri sit on 36 points in seventh place. But the season isn't over, and the team know that an improvement in the league standings is required. AC Milan are three points away from a Europa League spot after losing momentum slightly following the setbacks against Fiorentina and Genoa. But only through a closer analysis can we detail just how things are going for the Diavolo in the league.

Despite the team's negative goal difference, the result of having scored 28 and conceded 34, AC Milan are the side to have kept the most clean sheets (seven in total) and conceded the lowest percentage of their goals in the first half (eleven, 32%) of matches since Coach Pioli arrived.

These are numbers which underline the collective growth of the team and, more specifically, the defence. Since the start of the new year, and also thanks to signings made in the January transfer window, the Diavolo have made big steps forward: AC Milan have picked up an average of 1.7 points per game in 2020, as opposed to 1.2 points per match prior to this. In general, the Rossoneri's win percentage has increased from 35% to 50% across Serie A and the Coppa Italia, while Coach Pioli's men have also started to find the net more: the team are averaging 1.7 goals per game compared to 0.9 goals before.

In total, the Rossoneri have won on twelve occasions (six wins in 2020), drawn seven (four draws in 2020) and suffered ten defeats (two losses in 2020) since the start of the season. This is data that needs to be reviewed carefully as the Diavolo look to make improvements, especially in terms of results.
