Two sides in excellent form are set to face off at San Siro this evening: AC Milan and Atalanta will meet on matchday 36 in Serie A. Despite having a depleted squad, the Rossoneri will undoubtedly be aiming to continue their positive run of results since the restart. The build-up begins now: here are some facts and figures relating to tonight’s showdown as kick-off draws nearer.

    STATE OF PLAY
1- Since the restart, Atalanta and AC Milan are the two teams who, on average, have picked up the most points per game (2.6).

2- AC Milan could score at least two goals for the tenth consecutive Serie A match, a feat that they’ve only achieved twice before (in 1959 and 1964).

3- AC Milan could win four matches in a row for the first time this Serie A campaign: the last time they achieved this was when they emerged victorious in their final four fixtures last season.

4- AC Milan have found the net for 17 successive matches in Serie A. The Rossoneri haven’t done better than this since September 2017 (21).

    GENERAL STATISTICS

5- Atalanta (15) and AC Milan (nine) are the two teams who are currently enjoying the longest unbeaten runs in the competition.

    PLAYER FOCUS
6- AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimović has contributed to five goals in his last four Serie A games against Atalanta, with the Swedish striker finding the net four times and providing one assist.

7- Hakan Çalhanoğlu could become the first AC Milan player to provide an assist for four Serie A matches in a row since Opta started collecting data (2004/05).

8- Alessio Romagnoli will be missing through injury: the last time the Rossoneri captain missed a Serie A match was in May 2019, when he sat out AC Milan v Bologna through suspension.

9- Giacomo Bonaventura made 99 appearances for Atalanta in Serie A. The Italian made his top-flight debut (May 2008) while he was on the Orobici’s books, and he’s scored three times against his former side.

    COACHES
10- Stefano Pioli has been more successful than Gasperini in the matches where the duo have faced off in Serie A: the current Rossoneri boss has won six, drawn three and lost four against his Italian counterpart.
