9 FACTS ON AC MILAN V SASSUOLO

The main stats ahead of Serie A matchday 14

From the Champions League back to Serie A, as we look to get back to winning ways in domestic football too. It's AC Milan v Sassuolo on matchday 14 at San Siro; for the first time this season, the Rossoneri are in action at 15:00 CET on Sunday. It's a game to be approached in the best way possible and is certainly not one to be lost; let's get ready for kick-off with a few facts and stats.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
1- The most common scoreline between the two teams in Serie A is 2-1 to AC Milan - the final score of four meetings, including two of the last three.

RECORD AT SAN SIRO
2-
AC Milan have failed to score at home against Sassuolo in Serie A on just one occasion: 0-0, the first match between the two with Pioli at the helm (December 2019).

CURRENT FORM
3-
Since last May onwards, AC Milan have won six of their eight home games in Serie A (D2) and have kept a clean sheet in five of these matches - no other team has kept more clean sheets at home in that time.

GENERAL STATS
4-
This match is a meeting between the only side not to have dropped points from winning positions this season (AC Milan) and the team that has dropped the most after taking the lead (13 for Sassuolo, level with Spezia).
5- AC Milan have taken the most shots after winning the ball high up the pitch (within 40m or less from the opposition goal) of any team in the league this season: 27, just less than double what Sassuolo have managed (14).
6- AC Milan are, along with Genoa, the team that has scored the most goal in the last half an hour of games in Serie A this season (13). Sassuolo, meanwhile, have scored the least goals in the league during the final 30 minutes (three).

PLAYER FOCUS
7- After his brace against Fiorentina, Zlatan Ibrahimović is just two away from becoming only the third player since the 2000s to score 300 goals in Europe's Top-5 leagues. The Swede is currently on 298 - behind Cristiano Ronaldo (480) and Messi (475) - and is just one goal away from breaking Silvio Piola's record for goal scored in Serie A after turning 38 years of age (30 for Ibra, 31 Piola).
8- Furthermore, Zlatan Ibrahimović is on 72 Serie A goals in an AC Milan shirt: should he score, he would draw level with Filippo Inzaghi in tenth place for goals for AC Milan in the competition.
9- Tiemoué Bakayoko's next game will be his 50th appearance in all competitions in an AC Milan shirt.
