AC Milan secured an important 1-0 victory over Lecce thanks to Niclas Füllkrug's decisive goal from a Saelemaekers cross. The Rossoneri remain in second place in the Serie A table after matchday 21, three points off the top. Here are the facts you need to know after the match at San Siro:
- AC Milan have gone unbeaten for 20 consecutive games in the same Serie A campaign (W13 D7) for the first time since the period between September 1992 and March 1993 (23 – W17 D6, under Fabio Capello).
- AC Milan (W13, D7, L1) have suffered at most a single defeat in the first 21 matches of a Serie A season for only the third time since the three-points-for-a-win system was introduced in 1994/95, after the 1995/96 and 2003/04 seasons (one loss in each case).
- The Rossoneri have gone ten consecutive home league matches unbeaten (W7, D3) for the first time since the period between November 2023 and April 2024, when they also went ten games without defeat at San Siro (W8, D2) under Stefano Pioli.
- Niclas Füllkrug has become only the third German player in AC Milan's history to score in Serie A, following Bierhoff (36 league goals for the Rossoneri) and Ziege (4). Before today, the striker had not scored in a Top 5 European league since 5 April, when he netted for West Ham against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
- Alexis Saelemaekers has provided three assists in the league this season. Only in 2020/21 (4), also when he was wearing Rossoneri colours, has the Belgian done better in a single Serie A campaign (he also recorded three assists in 2020/21, 2022/23 and 2024/25).
