Plenty of promising signs on a fantastic night of football. In Hong Kong, AC Milan scored their first goals and recorded their first victory of the summer, running out 4-2 winners against Liverpool, the English champions, after a solid display. Strong at the back and dangerous on the break, it's no coincidence that three of the goals scored by the Rossoneri - wearing the new Third Kit - came from counter-attacks. Leão opened the scoring early on, while Loftus-Cheek and Okafor both struck in a seven-minute period in the second half. The Swiss attacker then sealed the match in stoppage time.

On an evening also marked by an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, fine goals from Szoboszlai and Gakpo proved inconsequential. Compared to the match in Singapore, Allegri's side made some positive strides forward, especially in attack. At the Kai Tak Stadium, AC Milan were clinical on the counter and composed in possession. The Rossoneri now need to push forward with confidence ahead of the final fixture of their Asia-Pacific tour: Perth Glory await in Australia on Thursday 31 July.

    MATCH REPORT
The match started in lively fashion. After Salah and van Dijk had threatened early on, both Pulisic (5') and Leão (8') forced Alisson into action. However, the Brazilian goalkeeper couldn't do anything about AC Milan's tenth-minute opener: after recovering possession, Fofana found Pulisic, who picked out Leão in behind. Rafa's burst of pace left the Reds' defence trailing, with the Portuguese man then finding the top corner with an unstoppable strike. Liverpool equalised in the 26th minute through Szoboszlai, who brilliantly placed the ball beyond Maignan's reach. After a brief spell of pressure from the Reds, the Rossoneri went back on the attack and had four good opportunities - two each for Pulisic and Leão - but the scoreline remained 1-1 going into half-time.

The game resumed with plenty of changes, especially for Slot's side, who came close to taking the lead through Gakpo. However, it was AC Milan who restored their advantage after another excellent move on the break (52'). Okafor found Leão, whose burst of pace ended with a layoff for Loftus-Cheek. The Englishman kept his composure, dribbled past his man and finished clinically past Mamardashvili. After attempts from Gakpo and Nyoni, the Rossoneri netted another goal on the counter as Okafor finished off a move also involving Leão and Saelemaekers. Shortly after the hour mark, Estupiñan came on to make his debut, Gravenberch hit the bar and Terracciano thwarted Frimpong. With the clock ticking down, the match suddenly burst into life again in stoppage time: Gakpo pulled one back with a header, but Okafor sealed the 4-2 victory after Chukwueze had won back possession.
