The Scudetto dreams of Coach Morace and her girls have perhaps been dashed in Vercelli following a 2-0 defeat. It was a match with a huge amount riding on it considering that the leaders Fiorentina had won on Saturday and the Rossonere had slid from being within five points of top spot, to four points off second and the Champions League places. At the Stadio Piola, it was an entertaining match, especially in the first 45 minutes and there were chances all throughout the game. Juve always seemed to be in control while AC Milan hung on before falling in the second half to two Barbara Bonansea goals that proved decisive. It was a tough and possibly decisive blow in the race for the top two in the Women's Serie A which will now take a break for international football until 16 March. After, Coach Morace's girls will face Florentia at home and three points are the only option.

MATCH REPORT
Juventus almost took an early lead after just 15 seconds, with Korenciova being forced to tip Aluko's right-footed strike onto the post. AC Milan responded in the seventh minute through Giguliano, but her effort was deflected behind. The resulting corner was met by Thaisa, although her header was too weak and central to find the back of the net. The battle between Aluko and Korenciova continued, with the Rossonere goalkeeper coming out on top on two occasions, once at the near post and once at the far post. The Rossonere then almost took the lead through Giacinti, but Bacic was there to make the save. The half-time whistle was then blown to end an entertaining first half. After the break, Juventus managed to get the upper hand and took the lead through Bonansea after she took advantage of a mistake in the AC Milan defence and beat the outrushing Korenciova. Ten minutes later, the Bianconere almost doubled their lead through their number ten, but she could only hit the woodwork with an acrobatic effort. Nevertheless, Juventus did get a second as the match was drawing to a close when Bonansea fired past Korenciova with a precise right-footed shot. There were no further goals and so the match ended 2-0 to the home side.
