AC Milan remain on course to qualify for the Champions League. On matchday 20 in Serie A, the Rossonere defeated fourth-placed Roma 4-1. Coach Morace's side are now just two points off the top following a victory that sees them temporarily climb to second position in the league as they await the outcome of the match between Fiorentina Women and Florentia. AC Milan's four-goal haul came in the second half as Giugliano, Sabatino and striker Giacinti all found the back of the net. The latter scored a brace, bringing her up to 20 goals for the season. After showing a lack of precision in the first half, the Rossoneri took the lead immediately after the restart and went on to score four despite being pegged back when 2-0 to the good. This was a solid and effective display and one which led to the team picking up their third win in a row. This vital and precious win moves AC Milan closer to the top of the league as the season's end draws ever nearer. Two games are now left to play.

MATCH REPORT
The Rossonere had the first chances once the game kicked off: in the first minute, Giugliano was unable to find the back of the net, while three minutes later Giacinti fired over. Roma responded through Serturini's effort, but Korenciova was there to make the save. Just before the half-hour mark, Giugliana came close again before Giacinti's strike just before half-time was too weak to be a real threat to the Roma goal. At the start of the second half, the Rossonere scored the opening goal of the match: Giugliano made it 1-0 in the 46th minute with a simple tap-in after great work by Bergamaschi. In the 59th minute, AC Milan doubled their lead from the penalty spot: Sabatino fired past Pipitone after Giacinti had been fouled in the box. Giacinti hit the woodwork ten minutes later, but just as it looked like the Rossonere were coasting towards victory, Roma reduced the arrears as Tucceri unluckily diverted the ball into her own net following Serturini's cross. But any nerves that the Rossonere might have had immediately disappeared as Giacinti finished off Sabatino's assist in the six-yard box with her left foot after 76 minutes. And things only got better for AC Milan with 87 minutes on the clock: an outrushing Pipitone was unable to stop Valentina making it four and sealing an impressive win for Morace's side.
