The 2-0 result which sealed the 16th win in the Serie A Femminile was one of the most important for AC Milan and it means everything will still be to play for on the final day. The Rossonere had to beat AtalantaMozzanica on the road to keep hopes alive and did, staying within a point of Fiorentina and jumping ahead of Juventus before they play on Sunday. Against a tough side who took a 0-0 draw from the previous encounter and on a pitch that wasn't in the best condition, Coach Morace's side won thanks to second-half goals from Sabatino and Giacinti. It wasn't easy after it was goalless at the break and Bergamaschi was sent off after the opening goal but Milan showed strength, quality, character and desire once again. They were three crucial points before the final match of the season which is next weekend. At 12:30 CEST on Saturday 20th April, it will be AC Milan v Chievo Valpo at the Vismara.

    MATCH REPORT

The first half was very tight at the Stadio Comunale di Caravaggio without much in the way of chances or excitement. Tactics were at the fore with both teams playing cautiously. The best chances came either side of the break, In the 44th minute, a Giacinti shot across goal went just wide while Kelly looked dangerous in the 46th minute from a similar chance. Milan stepped up in the second half and a Bergamaschi goal was disallowed early in the half for offside before the opening goal came in the 50th minute. A penalty was awarded for handball and captain Sabatino made no mistake after stepping up to the spot. In the 55th minute, AtalantaMozzanica saw a goal disallowed before the Rossonere went down to ten in the 58th minute when Bergamaschi was shown a second yellow card. Priorities changed for Coach Morace following the dismissal as the team fought to deal with the numerical disadvantage while still attacking. In the 76th minute, Alborghetti had a go but the shot was inaccurate. In the 88th minute, the Diavolo managed to extend the lead thanks to Giacinti's tenacity despite the all of opposition pressure and that was that.
