A dream start. There was plenty of desire to get the new Serie A Women's season underway, but very few people could have imagined a start as good as this. Simply perfect. On the opening day of the league season, Coach Ganz's side recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Roma at the Stadio Tre Fontane after a fantastic performance. The second half proved decisive, with Heroum, Čonč and Giacinti all netting after the restart. It really was an excellent display by the Rossonere, who controlled the match throughout against a very strong and much-fancied side. This was a brilliant away victory that will give the team a lot of confidence as they look to have a successful season. Now more than ever, the Rossonere are full of hope and ambition. The team played with determination and bravery, also demonstrating unity and excellent fitness levels until the very end. AC Milan sit at the top of the table as they await their next fixture at home to Orobica Bergamo next weekend. Well done, girls!

MATCH REPORT
AC Milan made a strong start: with five minutes on the clock, Swaby managed to deny Giacinti as she bore down on goal. In the twelfth minute, Bergamaschi had the best chance of the opening period, but she could only fire straight at Pipitone with Giancinti in space next to her. After 26 minutes, Serturini was unable to keep her effort down for Roma. The Rossonere were more than matching the home side and had the upper hand in terms of territory, but it was the hosts who just missed out on taking the lead after the restart with a free kick that hit the bar. After this scare, AC Milan went on to break the deadlock: Heroum volleyed home Bergamaschi's cross in the 69th minute, with Salvatori Rinaldi also making a big contribution to the goal with some great work. After 83 minutes, the Rossonere doubled their lead: Čonč finished from close range after the ball had fallen to her in the box following Giacinti's cross from the wing. In the 89th minute, Valentina (the captain) turned provider to goalscorer as she found the corner with her left foot.
