following the decision by the FIGC to stop Women's Serie A championship, we wish to share with you some considerations about this season that kicked off with great enthusiasm and that, unfortunately, was overwhelmed by the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
Covid-19 made us understand that we must put health and loved ones first. That’s why we immediately complied with the rules issued by the government, the sports institutions and by our Club that promptly took action to tackle the emergency.
We returned at the Vismara Sports Center on May 18th and we continued to work with our hearts full of hope until a few days ago. We have trained every day, because football is our life, and we know how powerful it is in conveying confidence and relief. We would have liked to take to the field to accomplish our goals, to make AC Milan a key player on the Italian and the European stage. We worked hard to honour our shirt, no matter what. We missed the qualification for the UCL due to an algorithm, a verdict that disappointed us, but we promise that it will be the lever to return stronger and more focused than ever. From the second week of July we will be back at the Vismara Sports Center to train at best in view of the first match of the new championship, scheduled for August 22, 2020.
We promise to all of you that we will do our very best to achieve great things in the future, with the same high ambitions and the same enthusiasm, thus returning that extraordinary energy you give us every day. Sempre Milan!
