WOMEN, AC MILAN v SAMPDORIA: MATCH PREVIEW

Back on the pitch to continue their progress. The Rossoneri host Sampdoria at the PUMA House of Football with a renewed spirit and a firm desire to pick up their third consecutive victory in the Women's Serie A. After this game, the league will have a weekend break and Ganz's side wants to be there in the best possible way. Here is our preview of tomorrow's match:

LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
Two consecutive victories against Sassuolo and Parma sees positive momentum. A different feeling is in the air at the Vismara and tomorrow, against the Doriane, the team is expected to confirm this, both in terms of result and performance. Martina Piemonte returns to the ranks, after missing the away match at the Tardini, and Marta Mascarello and Christy Grimshaw will also be back in action. However, the boss will not have Alia Guagni, Angelica Soffia, Rimantė Jonušaitė and Silvia Rubio available.

"We face a healthy team, that has started the championship well", Coach Ganz said on the eve of the match. "We are happy to have some players back, it will be an interesting match that we will face with positive momentum".

It was a very exciting start of the season for Antonio Cincotta's Blucerchiate, with three victories in the first three games of the season. A positive streak was interrupted last weekend by a 2-0 defeat against Rita Guarino's Inter. Away, so far, Samp have won every game: first 2-1 against Sassuolo and then 1-0 at Como. Cecilia Prugna and Valentina Soggiu, who are struggling with two injuries, will not be available. The Dorians' squad includes two former Rossonere players, Dominika Conč and Giorgia Spinelli, who scored against Pomigliano on Matchday 2. 

PRE-MATCH
AC Milan have won both previous Serie A fixtures against Sampdoria (in the 2021/22 tournament), scoring five goals and conceding none. The Blucerchiata could become the first opponent against whom the Rossoneri count three clean sheets since the start of last season. Against Parma, in their last game, Laura Giuliani was in goal, earning AC Milan's seventh clean sheet in Serie A in 2022: an interesting statistic because, in this calendar year, no team has kept more clean sheets in the top division (at 7, also Roma).

The referee for the match between the Rossonere and Doriane will be Mario Saia, from Palermo. Assisting him will be linesmen Khaled Bahri (Sassari) and Marco Belsanti (Bari) as well as fourth official Paolo Di Carlo (Pescara).

The fifth matchday of the Women's Serie A starts this evening with Como v Inter at 19.00 CEST. Tomorrow, in addition to AC Milan v Sampdoria, Fiorentina v Sassuolo will also be played at 12.30 CEST. The last two games of the week are on Sunday: Juventus v Pomigliano (12.30 CEST) and Roma v Parma (14.30 CEST).
