WOMEN, AC MILAN v POMIGLIANO: MATCH PREVIEW

Third game in eight days for the Rossonere: our pre-match analysis

AC Milan femminile's season continues, with a third match in eight days as they host Pomigliano at the PUMA House of Football. There is a 14-point gap between the two teams in the table, but the match on the 17th matchday of the Women's Serie A is one not to be taken lightly. Here is our Match Preview:

LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The historic victory against Juventus and the progression in the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina have brought back enthusiasm and serenity to the Rossoneri group, with the two huge games (after Pomigliano, they face Como away on Sunday 26 February) that will be very important to try to narrow the distance to the European placings and get themselves into the race for the Champions League. Kosovare Asllani and Marta Mascarello are both unavailable for the game against the side from Campania due to injury. "It's an important game for us, and must be approached in the right way", said Coach Ganz on the eve of the game. "We're good and ready to give a big performance to arrive at the break on a high, and then begin well at the restart".

Here is the Rossonere squad for the game: Babb, Fedele, Giuliani; Árnadóttir, Carage, Fusetti, Guagni, Mesjasz, Nouwen, Soffia, Thrige, Zanini; Adami, Donolato, K. Dubcová, Grimshaw, Vigilucci; Bergamaschi, M. Dubcová, Piemonte, Thomas.

LATEST FROM POMIGLIANO
Sixth place in the table with 14 points for Pomigliano, who will try in the Poule Salvezza to confirm their place in the Women's Serie A for the third consecutive season. The Campania women have won only one point - 0-0 at home against Parma - in their last three matches, but they nearly came away with something in the matches against Juventus and Fiorentina. They are a team accustomed to playing on the counter-attack - they've scored three goals on the counter-attack this season, the most in the league - and they know how to be clinical towards the end of games (29% of their goals have come in the last 15 minutes of games). AC Milan must be on at the top of their game in the second half.

PRE-MATCH
This is the fourth ever meeting between the two teams, with the Campania outfit winning the game in the first half of this season after having lost 8-2 over the two games last season. The match at the end of October should serve as a warning, despite the two teams having some significant statistical differences: for example, AC Milan scored seven more goals in the first half of games this season than Pomigliano have in the entire tournament (21 out of 33 goals for the Rossoneri, 14 for the Panthers). However, Pomigliano rank second for duels won (51% against Milan's 47%) and the best in terms of percentage of shots that are on target (53%). For the Rossonere, it will also be their 50th home game in the Women's Serie A.

WHERE TO WATCH AC MILAN ON TV
AC Milan v Pomigliano will be broadcast live, in Italy, at 14:30 CET on Sunday 12 February on TIMVision and Milan TV. Don't miss the coverage on acmilan.com, the Rossonere's official social channels and the AC Milan Official App where, from the following day, the full game will be available, on demand.
