LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere arrive at the big match fresh off the Emelyne Laurent's last-second goal to beat Napoli and confirm the first victory of the season. A goal that is an example of the group's stubbornness and will to fight, vital characteristics in such an important meeting. What preceded the match was a week of work for Ganz's team, not affected by the returns from international commitments, as happened for the away match in Campania.
Here is the squad list for AC Milan v Juventus: Copetti, Giuliani, Van Eijk; Árnadóttir, Bergamaschi, Fusetti, Guagni, Piga, Semplici, Swaby, Thrige; Adami, Cernoia, Dubcová, Grimshaw, Mascarello; Arrigoni, Asllani, Dompig, Laurent, Marinelli, Stašková.
"I liked the will to win against Napoli, not giving up and pushing until the end," said Ganz ahead of the match against the Bianconeri. "We have to look for more precision, without losing the desire to score and hurt the opponents. Last year we played games with personality against Juventus, we must do the same: we will need desire and attention from everyone."
LATEST FROM JUVENTUS
A strong start in the first two matches for the Bianconere, with victories over Pomigliano (2-3) and Sampdoria (4-1) helped put the elimination in the Champions League preliminaries against Eintracht Frankfurt behind them. In the summer Juventus refreshed their squad with several French players such as Cascarino from PSG, Garbino and Palis from Bordeaux, and former Rossonera, Lindsey Thomas. In the last round against Sampdoria, Montemurro opted for the following 4-3-3: Peyraud-Magnin; Gama, Lenzini, Cascarino, Nildén; Caruso, Gunnarsdóttir, Garbino; Cantore, Girelli, Beerensteyn (who scored a brace, Girelli and Garbino the other two goals).
PRE-MATCH
Juventus have a stronger head-to-head record (6 victories to 3, with 2 draws) but AC Milan are unbeaten in three of the last four matches, winning two matches last season. The Bianconere have conceded fewer shots than every team in the league in the first 180 (14), but the Rossonere can boast as many as seven direct attacks in their first two matches: the best in the league so far. Two new Rossonere faces are in fact former Bianconere: Andre Stašková (85 appearances and 36 goals from 2019 to 2022) and Valentina Cernoia (143 matches played and 30 goals between 2017 and 2023). Chanté Dompig scored her first goal in Rossonero in the last match-up; she is onen of three attackers with the most duels won in the first two matches (11, like Stašková).
