WOMEN, COMO v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

The Rossonere are away again after the Coppa Italia: a guide to our Serie A Matchday 4

Bounce back and secure the three points. This will be AC Milan's objective as they approach the difficult away match at Como Women's ground on Matchday 4 of the Women's Serie A. After the draw at the PUMA House of Football and the big away win last season, AC Milan and Como Women meet again to start a new chapter in this meeting. As we get closer to the match, on Saturday 14 October at 18:00, let's take a look at our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere found excitement and goals over the course of their midweek Coppa Italia meeting, vital for turning a new leaf after the home loss in the big match against Juventus. There were many positive indications for Coach Ganz from the 7-2 victory away to Hellas Verona, as he looks to reinvigorate his team with the three points. From Grimshaw's superb performance to the Jonušaitė's first official start, the Rossonere showed no signs of stopping. Returning to winning ways in Serie A would be important for the group, but especially so for Valentina Bergamaschi, who could make her 100th Rossonere appearance in Serie A on Saturday.

This is the squad list for Como Women v AC Milan: Copetti, Giuliani, Marcomini; Árnadóttir, Bergamaschi, Fusetti, Piga, Soffia, Swaby, Thrige; Adami, Dubcová, Grimshaw, Mascarello; Aprile, Arrigoni, Asllani, Dompig, Jonušaitė, Laurent, Marinelli, Stašková.

LATEST FROM COMO WOMEN
Home defeat to Napoli (6-3) and hence elimination. This was the bitter result for Como Women, knocked out in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia. They have been stars of a surprisingly impressive start to the season, with two successes, both 2-1 against Napoli and Sampdoria, before a misstep against leaders, Roma. A young team, with nine players born after 2000, amongst which Oona Sevenius, who will be highly motivated and ready. Bruzzano's teams rarely fail to disappoint, providing goals and excitement with his dynamic and proactive 4-3-3 lineup, which will be awaiting AC Milan next.

PRE-MATCH
The two previous Serie A matches between Como and AC Milan, both last season, ended with a home draw (3-3) and an away win for the Rossonere (0-4). AC Milan could become the second opponent against whom the Como outfit have suffered more than one home defeat to in the league, following Pomigliano. Como Women are in form however and have an excellent home record, shown by the 12 points won in their last five home Serie A matches (4W,1L). They will be facing a Rossonere team with a strong away record, however: since the start of 2023, only Roma (one) have lost fewer away matches than AC Milan in the league (two). Valentina Bergamaschi and Marta Mascarello are the only players in the current Rossonere squad to have contributed to more than one goal against Como Women in Serie A, with two assists each.
