THE ROSSONERE BEAT COMO 4-1

Dompig, Vigilucci and a Laurent brace give AC Milan two wins out of two in the season's second phase

Four goals and another great performance by the Rossonere! Coach Corti's AC Milan ran out clear winners in Como to achieve their fourth consecutive league success and now have two wins out of two in the Relegation Round. It ended 4-1 at the stadio Ferruccio Trabattoni thanks to goals from Dompig, Vigilucci and a brace from Laurent. Goals and entertainment are a winning recipe in the Women's Serie A and although Karlenäs' equaliser gave Como some hope the Rossonere took off in the second half to deservedly win and grab a further four-goal haul to beat Como.

After the 4-0 home win over Pomigliano, another four goals were scored, but this time on the road and against an opponent much closer in the table. The ninety minutes of play confirmed the team's current good momentum. There were many positives from the game, starting from the scorers: a fifth strike in the last four appearances for Dompig, and a second in a row for Vigilucci, while Laurent's entry has convinced everyone of her quality. The only negative note was Christy Grimshaw's injury, which needs to be evaluated in the coming days. Next up, scheduled for Sunday 14 April - at 15:00 CEST - at the PUMA House of Football is Napoli. Keep it going, girls!

MATCH REPORT
It was a lively opening in Como, with AC Milan having the better share of the game, despite Monnecchi – fed through by Kaján – getting the first chance inside three minutes, but Giuliani blocked well at the near post. The Rossonere reacted and went ahead in the fifth minute: Ijeh played in Dompig and the Dutch player fired across the keeper to find the opposite corner and make it 1-0. Both teams had further chances after 22 minutes: Dompig’s control and shot in the box was kept out by Korenčiová, and then on the counter Kaján’s left-footed shot was weak. In the 27th minute, the home team got back on level terms, with Monnecchi's cross being headed home by Karlenäs. AC Milan were on top in the game, though, and before the break the Lariana’s defence had to block Mascarello, Vigilucci and Dompig efforts. The first half ended 1-1.

The restart saw the Rossonere take the offensive lead. Dubcová had an effort less than a minute in, and Ijeh didn’t make full use of Piga's strength in the six-yard box. AC Milan persisted, though, and retook the lead in the 55th minute: Vigilucci’s long-range shot lowered at the right time and dropped into the corner to make it 2-1. Como tried to respond with Sevenius’ introduction, who was dangerous in the 74th minute, before Laurent caused havoc. In the 76th minute, the Frenchwoman latched on to Dubcová's assist, turned and fired home past Korenčiová; two minutes later ,she repeated the act with a right-footed shot from the edge that skimmed off the post and went in - a quickfire double and four goals for the Rossonerie. Mascarello linked up with Nadim to come close to getting a fifth after 80 minutes, before seeing the rest of the game out comfortably. It ended 4-1!
