DUBCOVÁ AND AN IJEH BRACE: THE ROSSONERE BEAT SAMP 3‑1

The Rossonere's excellent form continues as they beat Sampdoria 3-1 in Genoa and make it four wins from four. Goals by Dubcová at the end of the first half and the brace from Ijeh in the second, interrupted by Della Peruta's goal to make it 1-2, make it six consecutive victories for Corti's team. A streak that began on 14 February against Sampdoria.
Not only the victory but also encouraging signs in terms of gameplay, pressing, and physical condition. The team is in good shape and has started this second phase of the season in the best possible way (14 goals scored and 4 conceded so far). Whilst words don't win you trophies, the team is displaying a desire for redemption and growth after a challenging season. April for our girls has ended today. We restart in May for the final flourish with four matches to maintain momentum and end the season on a high.

MATCH REPORT
The Blucerchiate started the match well, with De Rita hitting the outside of the post (2') and shot by Baldi from an angle well saved by Giuliani on 9'. After settling in, the Rossonere's engine revved up, led by Dompig, who found Kamila in the penalty area but her header was too central (14'). Our first clear opportunity came on 33' with Asllani freeing herself in the box but hitting Tampieri with a left-foot shot. Mascarello had two chances, the first, she created herself, trying to score directly from the corner flag, but the ball went just high. On 44', Ijeh set up Marta beautifully however, she unfortunately opened up her foot too much. A goal was imminent and came on 45', thanks to a great move by Chanté, who went past three opponents and laid it off for Dubcová, who only had to tap it into the net for the 1-0 lead.
Straight after the break comes the second goal, with Evelyn Ijeh jumping higher than everyone to head in Bergamaschi's cross past the goalkeeper, making it 2-0 for AC Milan. A mistake in defence allowed Sampdoria to quickly get back into the game, thanks to a left-footed shot by T. Della Peruta that beat Giuliani. The Ligurians tried to force the equalizer, but Giuliani saved twice. With the game in the balance, the third Rossonere goal arrived. Mascarello played in Ijeh on the counterattack, and with a precise right-footed finish, made it 3-1 (80'). Ijeh herself missed an easy tap-in at 86' from Vigilucci's cross. With no further goals, it ended with a convincing victory for the girls.
