2025 couldn't have got off to a better start for the Rossonere, who smashed Napoli by six goals to nil at the PUMA House of Football. It was the best game of the season for Bakkers girls, and not just due to the final score: AC Milan were dominant throughout the 90 minutes, built up well, were clinical in attack and alert in defence. It was also a record-setting first half: for the first time ever in the history of Serie A Femminile, a team held a five-goal lead after the first 45 minutes.

Dompig, Ijeh, the Dutchwoman again, then Arrigoni and Cernoia scored before the break, before Marinelli added the Rossonere's sixth late in the afternoon. The goals were beautiful and well deserved following a thorough performance against a Napoli side, who have strengthened in the transfer window and recently suffered only a narrow defeat to champions Roma. This win is sure to lift the mood in the camp ahead of a big week, in which AC Milan face Fiorentina in the first leg of their cup quarter-final before the trip to Liguria to take on Sampdoria. Forza ragazze!

    MATCH REPORT
The Rossonere dominated possession and bagged an early opener: Renzotti's effort was denied by Bačić, but Ijeh played it across to Dompig to tuck it away (7'). AC Milan continued to attack and, in the 14th minute, Chanté hit the crossbar. The hosts got their second not 60 seconds later, however, as Piga found Ijeh, who headed home. Bakker's side were dictating the tempo of the game and extended their lead in the 33rd minute, Dompig it was who converted the penalty after handball was given against Slišković. There was still time for two more additions to the scoresheet in the first half as Arrigoni scored from the edge of the area (36') before Cernoia sent a stunning free-kick sailing into the top corner on the stroke of half-time.

With the Rossonere five goals to the good, the second half began at a lower tempo, but AC Milan kept attacking. In the 52nd minute, a brilliant piece of work from Arrigoni ended in a shot from Mascarello, which went over the bar. Then, substitute Stokić forced Bačić into a good save at her near post (75'). Goal number six came in the 78th minute: Ijeh led the counter and fed Marinelli, who wrapped it up at 6-0. Marinelli did come close to making seven in the 80th minute, but her effort was saved. The minutes wound down and full-time signalled a huge win.
