The Rossonere's last 90 minutes this season are coming up on Matchday 9 of the Serie A 2024/25 Championship Round. On Sunday 4 May at 12:30 CEST, Roma v AC Milan will take place at the Tre Fontane, in the fourth game of the year between these sides, with Bakker's girls winning the most recent two. Let's get ready for kick-off with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere are travelling to Rome at the end of a positive Championship Round, despite losing their two most recent games against Juventus and Inter. These were results that put an end to a five-game unbeaten streak with many goals and stand out performances from a team who have grown so much throughout the season. We have an almost full squad for our last game of the season, with some recent good news boosting us, including Julie Piga's contract renewal and club captain, Christy Grimshaw's, return from injury. Laura Giuliani may feature, Valentina Cernoia won't be available. There are no suspensions.

Suzanne Bakker's words ahead of the game: "In our last match of this season, we will give it our all once more. We want to end the season well. Not only with a positive result, but also in the way we play".

    LATEST FROM ROMA
It is an important game for the Giallorosse who are in a two-horse race with Fiorentina for third place, and an all-important Women's Champions League place. Spugna's girls will play knowing La Viola's result as the race for Europe could come down to their face off on the final day of the season. Coming back off a rest, Roma suffered two consecutive losses (three defeats in their last four games, also counting their 3-1 loss on 22 March at the PUMA House of Football): their form isn't the best, but they will be determined to turn it around and to finish their season as best as possible before playing Juventus in the Coppa Italia final on 17 May. Roma three big players missing in Viens, Dragoni and Valdezate. In the last few days, Kresche began training with the team again, however she is still a doubt for the game.

"We still have a few absences we haven't been able to recover, but we've trained well," said Alessandro Spugna. "We'll try to put in an important performance, AC Milan have always made it tough for us, and it won't be a straightforward 90 minutes. This year, they've been bold, with a project focused on young players and built on patience. We want to gift our fans a place in the Champions League."

    PRE-MATCH STATS

    • After 10 Serie A games against Roma without winning (4D, 6L), AC Milan have won the two most recent meetings, in January and March. The Rossonere have only ever won three in a row against the Giallorosse once in the top league: between 2018 and 2020 - five wins from five games in the competition.
    • Roma, alongside Napoli, are the two Serie A teams that Chanté Dompig has the best record against (three goals each). The Dutch forward, who equalled her record for goals in one campaign in Italy against Inter last week (six like last year), scored in our most recent game against the Giallorosse (22 March) and she has only managed to score twice in a row against the same opponent three times: Hellas Verona, San Marino Academy and Napoli.
    • Giorgia Arrigoni has scored more goals against Roma than any other Serie A opposition: three, including her first in the league, on 3 April 2022 with Hellas Verona. The 2004-born Rossonera is the youngest Italian with at least five goals in Serie A this season (five), and in the last five seasons in Italy's top league, only one player with Italian sporting nationality born from 1/1/2004 onwards managed to do better: Tori Dellaperuta.

WHERE TO WATCH ROMA v AC MILAN ON TV
In Italy, the game will be live on DAZN and Raisport. Don't miss our coverage on the Rossonere's Instagram page, on acmilan.com and on the AC Milan Official App, where the whole game will be available on demand the day after the fixture.

    LATEST FROM WOMEN'S SERIE A
Roma v AC Milan will be refereed by Ciro Aldi from Lanciano. The linesmen will be, De Chirico from Molfetta and Palermo from Pisa, and the fourth official Mascolo (Castellammare di Stabia).

Matchday 9 of the Championship Round: on Saturday 3 May the result was Inter 1-3 Fiorentina, while on Sunday 4, Roma v AC Milan will be played at 12:30 CEST.

This is the current table (Championship Round): Juventus 55; Inter 48; Roma* and Fiorentina 41; AC Milan 34.
