SERIE A WOMEN, ROMA v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

The Rossonere head to Roma to face the league leaders

The 2025/26 Serie A Women season brings us another exciting clash, between Roma and AC Milan. The two sides meet on February 8 at 12:30 CET at Stadio Tre Fontane. Rossettini’s Roma, currently top of the table, will host Bakker’s AC Milan in a clash that promises plenty of action. Both teams are in good form, and AC Milan will be looking to close the gap on the Giallorosse. The stage is set for Serie A Women, here’s our preview for matchday 13.

LATSET FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
AC Milan go into this game after a run of positive results. After beating Genoa 2-1 in their last Serie A game, the Rossonere have shown growth. Their previous 3-0 victory against Ternana gave the team a boost of confidence, and in recent games they have also welcomed back two key players: Monica Renzotti and Chanté Dompig. In the first meeting of the season, a win against the Giallorosse slipped away in the final moments despite a well-fought match. Tomorrow, AC Milan will aim to build on this positive momentum to secure a strong result. Sorelli, Babb, and Piga are unavailable.

Ahead of the match, Coach Bakker commented: "Our style of play has been clearly visible and developing in recent weeks. The upcoming match against Roma is another excellent opportunity to demonstrate where we stand as a team, both on the pitch, in terms of play, and in terms of energy and fighting spirit. The team strives every day to improve and be successful on the pitch".

LATEST FROM ROMA
Roma go into this match on a seven-game unbeaten run in Serie A Women. In their last outing, the Giallorosse fought back to draw 3-3 with Parma, showing great character and determination. Roma are in strong form and will look to keep their home unbeaten streak alive against AC Milan, who haven’t won at Tre Fontane in seven games. With nine points separating the two teams, the Giallorosse are ready to battle to strengthen their position in the table and stay in the race for the Scudetto.

PRE-GAME FACTS

  • Among the teams in the current Top-5 European leagues that have scored 100% of their goals from inside the penalty area, AC Milan lead the way with 22 goals, at least three more than any other team. Overall, only Inter (26) have scored more from this area in Serie A this season.
  • The two youngest players in the current Serie A to have contributed to at least five goals wear the Roma and AC Milan shirts are: 2006-born Giulia Dragoni (4 goals, 1 assist) and 2005-born Monica Renzotti (3 goals, 3 assists). Both have already been involved in a goal against their opponent in this match, each providing a decisive assist.
  • In the last match against Genoa, Kayleigh van Dooren became AC Milan’s top-scoring Dutch player in a single Serie A season with seven goals. Five of those goals have come since the start of December, and across Europe’s Top-5 leagues, only three players have scored more than the Rossonera in the same period: Khadija Shaw (eight), Ewa Pajor and Kerolin (six each), with Clàudia Pina and Aude Gbedjissi also on five.
