While it was a winless weekend, both AC Milan’s Under-19 and Under-17 sides produced good performances. In their second league fixture of the season, the Primavera came up against a strong Atalanta team but weren’t able to add to their points tally. They were just missing that goalscoring touch, with their opponents finding the net in the second half to win 1-0. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri certainly displayed the right spirit. As underlined by Coach Giunti, one aspect that the team will have to improve on is their finishing and ruthlessness in front of goal. Following this undeserved defeat, the Diavolo will be looking to bounce back away to Monza in the second round of the Primavera TIM Cup at 15:00 CEST on Wednesday.
The U17s were also in action at the weekend as they began their league campaign in Verona. It was a match that will have left a slightly bitter taste in the mouth: after taking the lead through Rossi early on and performing excellently in the first half, Coach Lantignotti’s side were unable to maintain this standard as the game went on, with Hellas equalising in the closing stages (1-1).
PRIMAVERA: Matchday Two, AC Milan 0-1 Atalanta
U17: Matchday One, Hellas Verona 1-1 AC Milan (15' Rossi)
