There could not have been a better return to the pitch for AC Milan Primavera: the young Rossoneri dominated their match against Lazio, achieving their second win of the season, almost four months after their success against Cagliari. The 3-0 result in Formello will seem small for the Rossoneri, who produced several attacking opportunities and could have added even more to the scoreline. The goals came from Giacomo Olzer who got a brace, and Emil Roback, but it is the effort of the whole group that provides the most positive indicators for Coach Giunti: from captain Brambilla to Michelis and Stanga, many played their hearts out for the badge. Also noteworthy is the debut of Gabriele Alesi, born in 2004. It was the best way to resume the season and usher in a tour de force from the off; the team will return to action as early as Wednesday afternoon, at 14:30 CET, with a trip to Torino.
MATCH REPORT
112 days since the last match, played at Vismara against Juventus, there was only one new addition to the Rossoneri line-up, with Roback joining Tonin in attack, in front of Vavro in the centre of the Lazio defence. The Rossoneri's excellent start was a good omen, and their first big opportunity came after eleven minutes with Mionić whose shot brushed off the frame of the goal after being set up by Tonin. Giunti's team continued to hammer against a Lazio side that produced little, and in the 26th minute came the turning point: Stanga was brought down in the box by Marino and the referee did not hesitate to blow the whistle for a penalty. Giacomo Olzer cooly slotted away the penalty, scoring the Rossoneri's first goal since September. Lazio came close to equalising in the 33rd minute with Bertini, but it was AC Milan who struck again before the interval: in the 43rd minute Emil Roback controlled the ball delightfully in the box, displaced the defender and scored with his left. In the second half the Rossoneri came out even stronger, closing out the match in the 52nd minute through Olzer: after a corner, the number ten bagged his brace by winning a rebound in front of the goal. This goal sealed the win, even though AC Milan came close to a fourth goal (with Olzer and later with El Hilali).
