AC Milan Primavera have been eliminated from the Coppa Italia by reigning champions Fiorentina at the Bozzi stadium in Florence, in the round of 16 stage. A bad start to the game cost them dearly; the hosts found themselves 2-0 up after only 13 minutes of play. The game was won in the first half, and Nasti's goal was not enough to level the match which finished 2-1. There will be personal joy for his goal, but it was not enough to straighten the ship, despite the Rossoneri giving their best effort to keep up with a strong opponent. In addition, the massive line-up changes adopted by Coach Giunti must be underlined, as several young players, including those born in 2003 and 2004, were selected – the youngest team selected so far in the league. The primary objective now remains the Primavera 1 and trying to maintain and improve the good pace demonstrated after its recovery. Starting with AC Milan v Sassuolo, an important fixture of the fifth matchday, scheduled for Saturday 6 February at 13.00 CET at Vismara.

MATCH REPORT
A day to forget for the Rossoneri, already behind after three minutes: after contact in the area, the referee whistled for the penalty kick and Fiorini left Moleri no chance from the spot. The situation worsened quickly, when the Viola doubled their lead on 13 minutes: Di Stefano got past Filì and found Spalluto in the middle, who turned and deposited the ball into the net. After a close shot by Ponzi was saved by Moleri in the 23rd minute, AC Milan got back into the game in the 26th minute: Nasti scored, beating Luci with a header at the end of a chaotic piece of action. Olzer sounded the charge as the Diavolo looked to get back on level terms: his free kick on 33 minutes flew over the crossbar from the edge of the box, and on 42 minutes he shot just left and wide of the target from a tight angle. Giacomo was again at the centre of play as the second half opened up, with a high shot on 48 minutes. El Hilali then became the danger man, shooting on 52 minutes and again on 55 minutes, twice forcing Luci into a save. Tonin also tried his luck in the 61st minute, but to no avail. Our Primavera fought but struggled to create great chances, and Fiorentina then returned to attack more: in the 81st minute Frison stood out but was unable to hit the target, and in the 84th minute Moleri performed a miraculous save to keep out a volley by Di Stefano. Hope vanished for AC Milan in the final few minutes, after a lopsided shot by Saco from distance in the 87th minute did not trouble the goalkeeper.
