FLORENCE AGAIN UNCONQUERABLE FOR THE PRIMAVERA

The Rossoneri fall to defeat at the Bozzi, it ends 3-1 to La viola

Florence proves unconquerable for AC Milan Primavera: after the Coppa Italia defeat in January, the Rossoneri also slip up in the league. In Tuscany it finished 3-1 to Fiorentina, who won the contest with two late goals that punish an AC Milan side who will feel hard done by. Ultimately it is a seventh defeat of the season in Primavera 1, despite the third consecutive goal by Youns El Hilali: the Italian Moroccan, who was unstoppable against Ascoli, proved offensively dangerous on several occasions, continuing his good form shown last weekend. Something to note is the full debut of defender Andrei Coubis, born in 2003. Coach Giunti's team will not have to wait long to get back on track, even if it will be one of the most difficult matchups: on Wednesday afternoon AC Milan v Roma will take place at Vismara.

MATCH REPORT

Coach Giunti was able to pick Jungdal between the sticks after his return from injury, in a starting eleven that also saw a debut handed to Coubis, as well as Cretti and Mionić coming in as fresh faces compared to the match with Ascoli. AC Milan played the game in what was a very tight first half, made up mostly of ball possession and few goal chances: the best came from good initiatives shown by Tonin in the 12th minute and Mionić in minute 40. The Rossoneri, came very close to taking the advantage near the end of the first half: a dart forward and a shot by El Hilali produced a relatively simple save from Brancolini.
The second half began with a great chance: Tonin progressed into the area in the 51st minute, passed it to the well-placed El Hilali who ended up shooting high and over the bar. Four minutes later Fiorentina took the advantage: a misunderstanding at the back allowed Munteanu to find himself face to face with Jungdal, and the La Viola striker did not miss. The Romanian striker nearly doubled the lead a few minutes later when Jungdal blocked down his shot. The Rossoneri equalised in the 69th minute: El Hilali was first to the ball after a shot by Tonin was blocked by the defence; a balance had been struck in the match. AC Milan believed in themselves, and came close again through Mionić and El Hilali, but fell in the 83rd minute when Pierozzi's right foot shot from the edge of the area that put La Viola back in front. It was a hard blow to take for the Rossoneri's morale, who conceded again two minutes away from the 90 as Munteanu's brace made for a 3-1 final score.
