THE PRIMAVERA AREN'T STOPPING: VICTORY OVER TORINO

Nasti scored the only game for Giunti's side, who are away at Roma next

AC Milan Primavera go marching on as they today recorded their third consecutive victory following wins in the league over Bologna and Sassuolo, this time round beating Coppitelli's Torino, who started the day just one point ahead of the Rossoneri. As in the recent game against the Neroverdi, the Rossoneri needed just one goal to take the points and the play-off dream edges just that bit closer to becoming a reality. Our boys needed to dig deep later on to resist Torino, who went into the game following their recent draw with Roma. Striker Nasti got the only goal of the game to bag his tenth goal in eleven games in Primavera 1.

What had been a slow and turgid game was given a new lease of life with the changes, thanks in no small part to the work of Capone, who came on at the start of the second half and drove the Rossoneri forwards. AC Milan's best chances all came through him and it ended up being clinical finishing that decided the day. This win is now behind us and the Rossoneri have a big game coming up on Saturday 19 February away at league-leaders Roma on matchday 20.

REPORT
The first half was largely uneventful and devoid of emotion. The first flickering of a chance for the Rossoneri came in the 16th minute when Roback dribbled to the byline and cut it back for El Hilali, whose shot was blocked. A double chance came on the half-hour mark: first, Di Gesù sent his effort just wide - it had looked like it might have just been drifting into the corner of the net, but no. Then, Wade's cross found Ginetis, who thought he had scored but Desplanches scrambled to make the stop and then the Rossoneri defence cleared the ball away.

Coach Giunti made changes at the start of the second half in an attempt to go out there and get a result. The tempo of the game picked up and the Rossoneri were more and more often getting on the front foot, thanks largely to the substitute Capone. The number 10, in fact, kicked off the move that led to the goal in the 70th minute; Gala, who had just come on to replace Di Gesù, saw his effort saved by the keeper, who only knocked it down as far as Nasti and the striker only had to tap it home to hand the Rossoneri the lead. With their pride well and truly wounded, Torino pushed hard to bring themselves led just seconds later but Desplanches rose highest to claim what was a dangerous ball. There was time enough for two chances to fall the way of AC Milan before the end; first to El Hilali and then to Gala but one goal is all that was required: three more points for the AC Milan Primavera.
