THE PRIMAVERA LOSE AT VINOVO

Juve run out 4-1 winners against the Rossoneri, with Capone's goal proving to be a mere consolation

On their return to action after the international break, AC Milan Primavera suffered a setback in the league as they lost today. Indeed, Juventus ran out 4-1 winners at Vinovo, with our lads struggling right from the early stages. After heading into the break 2-0 down, the Rossoneri fell further behind shortly after the restart. Capone’s goal offered a glimmer of hope, but the hosts went on to extend their advantage in the closing stages. The scoreline was a reflection of the Bianconeri’s dominance: they were the better side and showed more of a ruthless streak, while the Diavolo afforded their opponents too many opportunities and displayed less determination.

Despite the outcome, there were a few positives: in addition to Capone’s finish, Desplanches, Gala and Lazetić all put in good performances. However, it’s very disappointing that the home victory over Hellas Verona has been followed by this defeat. The team’s form remains inconsistent, something which is hindering their chances of moving towards the playoff zone. With matchday 26 still ongoing, Coach Giunti’s boys sit six points behind sixth place. Another tough clash awaits next weekend: second-place Cagliari will be visitors to Vismara, with kick-off scheduled for 12:30 CEST on Saturday 9 April. Today was an off day, but the Rossoneri can’t give up.

REPORT
It didn’t take long for Juve to establish control and go on the attack. In the 13th minute, Chibozo had a go but sent his effort wide. Three minutes later, Turco forced Desplanches into an excellent stop. It seemed like a matter of time before the hosts scored, and they did so with 23 minutes on the clock: Desplanches managed to thwart Mulazzi, but Chibozo was there to turn home the rebound. AC Milan responded well: Gala’s 28th-minute shot was saved by Senkó, while, two minutes later, Nasti fired straight at the goalkeeper after good work from Di Gesù. Having survived a big scare, the Bianconeri went up the other end and found the net: Mulazzi, in all sorts of space, picked out Bonetti, who was left with an easy tap-in. The Rossoneri really did face an uphill battle at this point.

Lazetić came on at the break, but Juve made it 3-0 on the 51-minute mark as Turicchia latched onto Chibozo’s back-heel and placed the ball into the corner of the net. This goal triggered another response from the Rossoneri. Lazetić’s low strike was kept out by Senkó on the hour mark; then, in the 64th minute, Marko found Capone, who reduced the arrears with a precise effort. El Hilali and Omoregbe came on as the Diavolo tried to pull another one back. In the 68th minute, the impressive Gala became the next player to test Senkó, but the home side put the game to bed after 80 minutes, when Savona finished off Rouhi’s ball into the middle. There were late attempts from El Hilali and Di Gesù, but the scoreline didn’t change. Full-time.
