SAMP STRIKE LATE TO WIN 4-1 AT VISMARA

Three goals in the final 20 minutes from the visitors condemn AC Milan Primavera to defeat

AC Milan Primavera fell to their third defeat in four matches today, losing 4-1 to Sampdoria at Vismara on matchday 29 of the Primavera 1 TIMVISION division. It was harsh on the Rossoneri, who played with character and courage during the opening 70 minutes and deserved more than just Marco Nasti’s equaliser. The visitors then scored twice in a matter of minutes, allowing them to take control and strike a further blow to the Diavolo’s play-off hopes.

Nasti’s 13th goal of the season (the second most in the league) was thus the only moment of joy on a bitter afternoon, one which the Rossoneri quickly need to put behind them as they look to finish the season in the best way possible. Now just five points ahead of the playout zone, they must also do so to solidify their position in the table. In the coming week, they’ll have two chances to make amends: first, they’ll face Pescara on the road at 12:00 CEST on Wednesday; then, a home match against Bologna awaits at 15:00 CEST on Saturday.

REPORT
Coach Giunti made just two changes to the side that started Tuesday’s win in Ferrara, with Bozzolan replacing Borges (meaning Stanga played on the right) and Capone coming in for El Hilali. The Rossoneri made an encouraging start, keeping possession and forcing Sampdoria to defend attentively. The first attempt of the match came from Gala, who shot over with his right foot from the edge of the box (12’). Eight minutes later, Villa did well to beat Capone to the ball in the six-yard box, while Saio then made a double save to keep out Capone’s effort from distance and then Nasti on the rebound. In a first half where the Rossoneri had created all the chances, Sampdoria then took the lead through Di Stefano following a free-kick routine straight from the training ground (42’).

The second half began with a setback for the Rossoneri, who lost Bozzolan through injury (Borges came on in his place), but they were soon celebrating an equaliser in the 54th minute: following Stanga’s run into the box, the ball ricocheted in the direction of Nasti, who left Saio with no chance with his right-footed strike. The goal gave AC Milan fresh momentum, with Traorè almost giving the Diavolo the lead with his head after 56 minutes. In the 64th minute, Di Gesù went for the spectacular but couldn’t keep his shot down. Then, Sampdoria struck again: Di Stefano made the most of Coubis’ hesitancy to bag his and the Blucerchiati’s second. 120 seconds later, the visitors extended their advantage, with Malagrida punishing Desplanches after the Rossoneri goalkeeper had raced out but failed to claim the ball. Traorè had a go with a free-kick on the 85-minute mark, but Conti, on as a substitute, scored a minute later to well and truly put the game to bed.
