A point apiece and a bit of regret, too. The Primavera derby finished 1-1 after goals from Kamate (3’) and Camarda (35’) in the opening period. In general, it was an even affair, but Abate’s side finished both halves well and had chances to win it. Inter goalkeeper Raimondi made decisive saves to thwart Scotti, Sia and Zeroli, but there was also a brilliant stop from Raveyre to deny Quieto with the Nerazzurri one to the good.
Against the league leaders, the Rossoneri probably deserved to win following a mature performance full of character. Certainly, the team did well to remain calm and bounce back after falling behind early on. With Simić and Zeroli back in the side, there were many encouraging signs from all the players out on the pitch. It was the response that Coach Abate was looking for after two matches without a win and just a few days before his side return to Youth League action against Sporting Braga. The round of 16 clash is scheduled for 14:30 CET on Wednesday at the PUMA House of Football.

MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri made a slow start as Kamate gave Inter the lead with a left-footed strike (3’). Having gone one up, the Nerazzurri looked to find spaces on the break and came close through Quieto, who let fly after cutting inside, but Raveyre did really well to foil him (14’). AC Milan started to grow into the game as the minutes ticked by, with the Inter defence making a couple of last-ditch interventions to thwart Sia in the 24th minute. The equaliser arrived on the 35-minute mark: Camarda latched onto a Sia header and, from the edge of the box, let fly with a powerful right-footed shot that Raimondi was unable to keep out. In the final stages of the first half, the visiting goalkeeper denied Scotti on the counter and then - with some brilliant reflexes - Sia from close range.
There wasn’t a lot of goalmouth action at the start of the second half, with Inter starting to push more but failing to cause the Rossoneri any real problems. The two teams were cancelling each other out and a draw seemed inevitable, but Coach Abate’s side really went for it in the closing stages. The introduction of Simmelhack gave the team more attacking impetus and led to three chances in quick succession: following a knockdown from the Dane, Zeroli saw his effort saved by Raimondi and, on the follow-up, Simmelhack was just beaten to the ball by Alexiou. Then, from the edge of the box, Bartesaghi tested the Inter shot-stopper, who was also in place to keep out a Magni volley from a Zeroli assist in the 91st minute. After five minutes of added time, the final whistle was blown: it finished 1-1 at the PUMA House of Football.
