The Primavera secured an important and deserved draw in injury time. It ended 1-1 between AC Milan and Club Brugge on matchday 3 of the UEFA Youth League, the visitors went ahead through Furo but Ossola levelled things up for us deep in injury time. Comotto assisted the goal from the 2007-born player which came as a reward for the Rossoneri’s spirit and determination which had seen them go very close to a goal beforehand, though failing to surprise a super De Corte. The final moments were chaotic, the time added on could have even seen a winner. Inevitably, there are some regrets but the squad walks away bolstered by the 90 minutes at the PUMA House of Football.

We paid dearly for one mistake and then came the group reaction. AC Milan were aggressive and courageous, the changes switched things up and kicked off the comeback, though it wasn’t completed. The draw is something to hold on to for the Rossoneri and postpones our first win in Europe, but with performances like this, a victory in the competition is on the horizon. The 1-1 draw brings Coach Guidi’s side to a total of two points in the table. After two home games, they will now go away to Fiorentina as they return to league action on Monday 28 October. Forza ragazzi!

    MATCH REPORT
Full of energy. The first chance came in the 8th minute and it was already a big one. A short ball from Yakymenko, Scotti got there first and skipped the keeper but his shot was cleared off the line by Verlinden. AC Milan were there to play, Club Brugge sat deep and tried to make things happen on the counter. The Rossoneri had another go with Perera (13’) and Liberali a minute later, both of their shots were blocked. In the 29th minute, the ball fell to Liberali in the box who turned to shoot but the ball was sent out for a corner. The visitors grew into the game around the half-hour mark and carved out their first chance in the 35th minute with a cross from Deuwal to Verlinden who shot over the bar. AC Milan were caught off guard in the 41st minute when the Belgians opened the scoring: Stalmach passed back, Furo beat Pittarella to slot the ball home and make it 1-0. Half-time.

The pace was stilted in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Club Brugge made a mistake in the build-up and Stalmach sent a ball for Scotti who was chased down. AC Milan continued to press, Paloschi and Scotti both had a go with their heads between 64’ and 67’ but to no avail. In the 70th minute, Perera made a run and passed to Bonomi in the middle but the ball ended up too long. Club Brugge responded in kind in the 72nd minute with Furo sprinting down the pitch and Pittarella making a decisive exit to meet him, Da Silva couldn’t capitalise. The substitutions re-energised the Rossoneri, Perin put in a ball for Albé in the 78th minute, and his explosive run ended with a shot saved by De Corte with help from the defence. Then, the final push. Perera (87') and Comotto (89') troubled De Corte, the Belgian keeper was decisive once again on a clean shot from Comotto in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Ossola’s diving header secured us the well-deserved equaliser. One minute later and Albé passed to Ossola, De Corte was once again miraculous. It ended 1-1.
