A 1-1 draw between Cesena and AC Milan on matchday 2 of the Primavera 1 Season: a fair result on a warm afternoon in Romagna, with the two goals coming just two minutes apart in the first half. Amadori opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Luca Nolli equalised in the 20th with a precise finish, after also scoring in the friendly against Atalanta. Both sides created several attacking opportunities, although neither goalkeeper was truly tested or forced into making difficult saves during the game.
Both Cesena (in Verona) and AC Milan (at the PUMA House of Football against Torino) had won their opening game of the 2026/27 season, and this afternoon provided further positive signs for both coaches in terms of their teams' physical and technical abilities. There were also several debuts for the Rossoneri, with Grassini starting and Calvani and Martini coming on late in the game. Now our focus turns to the next fixture. Sunday 6 September at 11:00 CEST, AC Milan v Juventus at the PUMA House of Football.

MATCH REPORT
The game got off to a lively start, with a few attempts from the Rossoneri that failed to cause any real threat for Gianfanti, and Tartaglia cleared Michieletto's effort off the line in the fourth minute. The tempo gradually dropped, as Bertaccini and Anastasio were both unable to find the target, but then Cesena opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Amadori headed home from a corner, beating Catalano. AC Milan responded immediately as Nolli fired home with his right foot after Grassini's lay-off to make it 1-1 in the 20th minute. After two goals in quick succession, the next major opportunity came in the 39th minute, when Nolli came close again, volleying Geroli's lay-off only to see his effort deflected by Cesena's defence. AC Milan threatened again before the break through Grassini, who was denied by a quick reaction from Gianfanti, and Domniței from a free-kick, but the score remained level at half-time.
The second half began with one change for each side, with Zanaga coming on for the Rossoneri, and the Rossoneri looking more promising than their opponents. The pressure did not produce any clear chances, and Cesena threatened in the 60th minute as Tonti's close-range shot went over the bar. Domniței tried his luck from distance in the 68th minute but could not find the target. Coach Renna looked to add more attacking threat with the introduction of Zaramella, but AC Milan struggled to break through a well-organised Cesena defence. Petrone, Calvani and Martini also came on, but the only notable chance late on was a free-kick from M. Casadei that failed to find the target. The game ended 1-1 after five minutes of added time.
POST-MATCH STATEMENTS
Andrea Cullotta, who wore the captain's armband for the game, said: "We're only partly satisfied because, as a team, we always want to aim for victory. We'll take this point from a difficult game. We showed more quality in the first half, while the second half was a little scrappier, but that's part of the game." Coach Giovanni Renna added: "It was a hard-fought game that could have gone either way. We've come away with another positive result, which proves some of our strengths, while also highlighting areas where we can improve. It was hot and we played on a pitch where not many teams will win. The reaction was very positive, and now our focus turns to the game against Juventus."
