The AC Milan Primavera fell to a narrow defeat against Roma, with Guaglianone’s second-half goal proving decisive. It ended 0-1 at the PUMA House of Football, where the Rossoneri's hopes of finding a way back were made even tougher by Cissé’s red card shortly after the goal and Nolli's dismissal in stoppage time. Coach Renna’s side continued to push until the final whistle and gave everything, but could not find an equalizer. It was nevertheless a solid performance from the Rossoneri, who more than held their own against a Roma side that have consistently been among the leading teams at this level in recent seasons and also boasted a higher average age.

A second straight defeat, following last weekend's loss in Verona, leaves the Rossoneri without a goal in their last two games. It is a setback to learn from, although there were still positives to take from the performance. With the fifth matchday still in progress, AC Milan sit provisionally eighth in the standings on seven points. The international break now provides valuable time to keep working and developing. The next chance to bounce back comes away to Atalanta on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, at 01:00 pm CEST.

    MATCH REPORT
Despite Roma applying the early pressure, AC Milan created the first opening. In the 8th minute, Zanaga found Tartaglia, whose cross reached Domniței, but his effort was blocked. In the 15th minute, a Catalano mistake gave Paratici a sight of goal, but his shot went narrowly wide. The game began to open up, with the Rossoneri unable to make the most of their set pieces. On the half-hour mark, Catalano saved Di Nunzio's powerful effort. Three minutes later, a Geroli mistake sparked a Roma counter, with Guaglianone firing just past the post. AC Milan had a huge chance in the 40th minute when Domniței picked out Nolli, whose angled effort from inside the box missed the target. Two minutes later, the Rossoneri survived a scare as Guaglianone's left-footed strike hit the woodwork.

Roma came out strongly again after the break. Panico threatened in the 46th minute, before Cama found Paratici two minutes later, but his header was comfortably dealt with. In the 50th minute, Cullotta met Nolli's corner and headed just over. Catalano then produced an excellent save to deny Falcetta in the 58th minute, before Panico went close moments later. The deadlock was broken in the 63rd minute. Panico laid the ball off to Guaglianone, who escaped Geroli and powered his shot into the net. The Rossoneri were dealt another blow just two minutes later, as Cissé picked up a second yellow card and was sent off. Catalano denied Guaglianone again in the 66th minute, while Roma chose not to push forward in search of a second. In stoppage time, Catalano was called upon once more to keep out Terlizzi.

Mister Renna reflected: "The biggest positive is the performance against one of the strongest sides in the league. The goal we conceded was avoidable. They were clinical, while we created several chances and failed to take them. We matched them throughout and showed we can compete with anyone."
