The derby in Perth ended in a 1-1 draw after an entertaining contest, marked by a deeply emotional tribute before kick-off. Prior to the match, Ruben Amorim's side paid homage to Franco Baresi, with the players taking to the pitch wearing the iconic No. 6 shirt of the legendary captain before joining Inter in a minute's silence in his memory. At Optus Stadium, the Australian friendly finished all square thanks to goals from Federico Dimarco in the 52nd minute and Christopher Nkunku from the penalty spot in the 84th – a result that reflected the balance of the match. It also provided valuable insights as Milan's pre-season preparations, tour and summer schedule continue following the test in Glasgow.

The Rossoneri were the better side in the opening half, playing with greater intensity and quality in possession while creating the clearer chances, despite allowing Inter a couple of opportunities just before the break. The Nerazzurri responded strongly after half-time, taking the lead early in the second period through Dimarco. As the game wore on, however, AC Milan's changes helped shift the momentum. The introduction, and overall return, of Luka Modrić brought composure and experience, while Ramos made an encouraging debut, adding solidity and energy. AC Milan's deserved equaliser eventually arrived late on through Nkunku's penalty, ensuring honours ended even. The Rossoneri now travel to Indonesia, where they will face Chelsea in another friendly in Jakarta on Saturday 8 August.

    MATCH REPORT
The opening stages featured two almost identical moves, both halted for offside – first Sebastiano Esposito, then Davide Bartesaghi. The first real chance arrived in the 11th minute, when Chukwueze's cross flashed across the face of goal without finding a decisive touch, with Francesco Camarda and Bartesaghi both unable to connect. Milan continued to look for quick vertical passes and came close to taking the lead in the 17th minute: Ruben Loftus-Cheek picked out Musah with a precise pass, but the midfielder struck the inside of the post from close range. Fofana also tried his luck in the 26th minute, though his placed right-footed effort was comfortably gathered by Josep Martínez. Inter grew into the game as the half progressed, with Torriani comfortably handling efforts from Esposito in the 43rd minute and Piotr Zieliński a minute later.

Inter emerged after the break with greater intensity, taking control of the game and going ahead in the 52nd minute: Barella found Dimarco, who finished from close range to open the scoring. The Rossoneri struggled to rediscover their rhythm and attacking fluency, prompting Ruben Amorim to reshape his side in the 63rd minute. In the 72nd minute, Ramos threaded a superb through ball to Rafael Leão, whose inviting cross towards Christopher Nkunku was well anticipated by Ivan Provedel. In the 84th minute, Nkunku won a penalty after being brought down by Augusto before stepping up to calmly convert with a composed strike into the bottom corner. There was one final scare in the 88th minute when Hakan Çalhanoğlu shot from the edge of the area, only for Torriani to produce a superb fingertip save. From the resulting corner, Augusto rose highest but headed over the bar. The derby finished 1-1.
